Federal Bonding Program

Provides individual fidelity bonds for applicants who have a firm job offer but are (or may be) denied coverage by a commercial insurance company because of:

  • Record of arrest, conviction, or imprisonment
  • History of alcohol or drug abuse
  • Poor credit history
  • Lack of employment history
  • Other special situations

Labor Certification / Prevailing Wage Program

Before an employer can import and hire alien workers, he must submit an application for labor certification and attempt to recruit qualified U.S. workers. Employment Programs assists the employer by:

  • Processing the employer’s labor certification request
  • Advertising the job opening with Workforce Centers to recruit
    U.S. workers
  • Calculating the prevailing wages for the occupation based on
    surveys conducted
  • Gathering the information needed to grant or deny labor certification

Seasonal Farmworker Program

Provides recruitment of temporary agricultural workers and sheepherders by Workforce Centers from outside the area of intended employment. Employers are required by law to provide no-cost or public housing for these workers if it is not to return to their place of residence the same day.

WOTC (Worker Opportunity Tax Credit)

Replacement program for the TJTC (Targeted Jobs Tax Credit) program. The program is a federal tax credit for employers who hire certain categories of disadvantaged workers.
