Appointments with Benefits Planner and Vocational Rehabilitation
Counselor can be made through the Workforce Center Front Desk staff, Employment
Advisors, or the Disability Program Navigator
Benefits Planners - - (Also See Project Train)
- Assist people with disabilities determine the potential impact of employment earnings on benefits (i.e. SSI/SSDI, Medicare, Medicaid, and other public assistance).
- Educate
and provide information about SSA, work incentives, PASS plans, Ticket to Work,
Impairment-Related Work Expenses, Department of Human Services/Vocational Rehabilitation,
Student Earned Income Exclusion and other benefits-related areas.
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors
- Trained professionals who specialize
in the analysis of medical and vocational information, job placements, and
vocational counseling.
- Rehabilitation provides goods and/or services necessary to help individuals with disabilities to secure and/or retain employment.
- Rehabilitation Engineering and other technological services are available.
- Independent living can be arranged through Independent Living Centers in local communities.
Funding for the Center
is provided by the Colorado Department of Labor of Employment, Colorado Workforce
Coordinating Council and U.S. Department of Labor.
