Workforce Boulder County youth programs are designed to help teenagers and young adults develop and improve employability skills, gain basic skills comprehension, and encourage school retention and completion.

WIA –Workforce Investment Act (Youth and Young Adult)
Purpose: To aid 14-21 year old youth who meet specific income guidelines and have other educational and/or employment barriers.

Description: This is a year-round, multi-faceted program. Its approach is designed to help youth develop workplace success skills, strengthen basic skills while encouraging school and work retention and achieve career goals.

How we get clients: Youth ages 14-21 are referred to WIA by parents, schools, social services agencies, and community based organizations.
Youth must be willing and capable to participate in the program.

General Eligibility Requirements

  • Reside in Boulder County
  • Be a US citizen or registered alien
  • Meet federal income Guidelines
  • Have all required documentation
  • In need of assistance to complete their education or work placement and retention goals
  • Commit to a twelve-month follow-up upon successful completion of the program

How to enroll

  1. Meet with Youth and Young Adult Program Specialist.
  2. Complete all forms/paperwork and provide all necessary documentation.
  3. Make an appointment for career development and assessments.
  4. Develop individual service strategy for employment goal.
